Race Review: Murder Creek Mud Run

by Phillip Webb / Wednesday, 20 May 2026 / Published in Blog

Make sure to support fellow OCRBuddy , Julie Phy and her husband Jason and their races Phoenix Race OCR. They have a fun and challenging race in Brewton, Alabama called the Murder Creek Mud Run. It has great obstacles, water features, and great support from the community.

Murder Creek Mud Run has competitive, open, and a kid wave. It utilizes the Creek and other natural features well. They also have creative obstacles like peg boards, slam ball throws, and slanted walls. The final obstacle is fun mud slide with lots of water from a Brewton Fire Truck.

In a time when bigger races are charging more for photos, Murder Creek is a breath of fresh air. Local photographers take many great photos and post them all quickly and for free. It’s a fun and challenging course for a low price.
