“You can’t kill us, we are already dead.”
– The Deadboys Manifesto
The Founders: Colby Lopez and Josh Gallegos
Flashback to January 2019. I felt stagnant, despite constant running. My fitness and mental strength were suffering. I knew I thrived on CrossFit-style workouts but wasn’t keen on returning to a CrossFit gym. I had a local gym I loved with ample equipment, but I needed guidance and structured plans.
Enter Deadboys Fitness.
What is Deadboys Fitness?
According to their website:
“Deadboys Fitness delivers a unique functional fitness experience. Created by Colby Lopez and Josh Gallegos, it caters to everyone—from experienced athletes to beginners. Deadboys Fitness offers daily workouts designed to transform your body.”
For those doing a double-take, Colby Lopez is WWE Superstar Seth Rollins. He partnered with Josh Gallegos, a prominent CrossFit coach and trainer, to bring accessible fitness to all.
Program Features
One key aspect of this program is its adaptability to any fitness level, offering three tiers of progression:
- Level 1: Beginner
- Level 2: Intermediate
- RX: Advanced
- RX+: For those seeking the next levels.
If weightlifting and gymnastics are more your style, they provide advanced options for these disciplines as well.
How It Works
You need minimal equipment—just dumbbells and a mat. There are also body weight-only workouts for those without equipment. Workouts are delivered via the WODIFY app. There is also a private Facebook group, complete with video links for advanced movements. You can perform these workouts anywhere.
The WODIFY app also allows you to track the history of your workouts (which is amazing for tracking the Crossfit Benchmarks).
Each workout leaves me feeling accomplished and drenched in sweat.
What I cherish most is the community. The Deadboys Fitness community uplifts, celebrates victories, and supports each other through challenges. It feels like an extended family.
While the program doesn’t include a nutrition component the community often shares nutrition tips and experiences.
Deadboys Fitness might not be tailored for OCR-specific workouts, but if you’re seeking a cost-effective, time-efficient functional fitness solution with a supportive community, it’s an excellent choice.
