1. Tell us about yourself
Born and raised in Philly. I’ve been playing sports since I was 4 years old. I work for the the state of PA as a casino compliance rep. I also work part-time as a stand manager at Hershey for events like hockey, concerts, and high school sports. I love giving my time to the community when I can and if I can’t I’ll be the first one donating goods, supplies, and money. I can be extremely quiet/shy but once I feel comfortable, you wouldn’t think that about me!
2. Why are you a part of The OCR Buddy community?
For the community itself! I want people to know where they can find different races, ninjas, or hybrids events! The OCR community as a whole is absolutely amazing and there are so many supportive people out there cheering you on no matter you Athletic abilities.
3. How did your OCR journey start?
In 2013 I was looking for something to occupy my down time before softball started up. I wanted to keep myself out of trouble as I was starting to spiral and not realizing who I was anymore. Starting my OCR journey helped me remember who I was and kept me out of trouble.
4. What is your best race story?
Well, it’s not really a race story it’s more of when I was volunteering at a race and doing the sweep. I was coming up behind the last few finishers and seeing other athletes and spectators cheer this group on filled my heart. It gave me another look at this community! And that’s why I love this community!
5. Who or what inspires or motivates you?
Everyone in the OCR community. People are there to cheer and support you through the ups and downs of each event or even giving out daily training tips. I love what this community is about and I’m going keep saying that!
6. If you could race any race in the world which race and why?
I honestly don’t have one specific race in mind. If money wasn’t an issue, definitely would love to race in different countries.
7. What are your goals for this year?
After my accident in 2022, I kind of lost a lot of my drive/motivation. I am still trying to gain that back. So with that being said I would like to continue getting my strength back and staying fit for my upcoming race season.
8. What team are you involved with and why?
Spartan4-0, I’ve been a member for some years now and I’ve met many many amazing people who some became my best friends and helped me along the way. The support system is absolutely amazing!
9. How do you train? Any special gyms or trainers?
I just keep to my normal workouts at a local gym, nothing to crazy. I was rock climbing until my accident and that’s where a lot of my grip strength came into play. I was also ice skating 1 or 2 times a week for a different cardio workout that worked for me. Eventually I’ll add the two back into my routines.
10. Are you an ambassador or fan of any other brands? Give them a shout out and let the community know why?
Honey Stinger for fuel. Mudgear for their amazing socks. Goodr, because they’re the best sunglasses for racing or any kind of activity. FitAid for their delicious recovery drinks!
